1. Overview

These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your access to and use of Rilo (the 'App' or 'Service'), including any content, features, and services offered through the App. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Rilo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use Rilo.

Rilo is a wellness and mindfulness application that helps users practice self-care, connect with others in circles, chat with companions, and enjoy calming content.

2. Eligibility

Age Requirement

Rilo is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. By using Rilo, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

If we discover that a user does not meet the age requirement, we may suspend or terminate the account and delete related data as required by law.

3. Your Account and Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and login credentials, including any third-party login (such as Apple or Google).
  • You agree that you are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must not share your account or impersonate any other person or entity.
  • You agree to notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend, or terminate accounts at our reasonable discretion.

4. Third-Party Login (Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In)

Rilo supports login via Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In for your convenience.

  • By using a third-party login method, you authorize Rilo to receive certain information from the relevant provider (such as a unique identifier, display name, and email address) to create and manage your Rilo account.
  • You remain responsible for complying with the terms and policies of Apple and Google when using their services.
  • We do not control and are not responsible for the terms, policies, or actions of Apple, Google, or other third-party providers.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of Rilo is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, including data obtained through Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and Apple In-App Purchases.

  • By using Rilo, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
  • If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy, you must stop using Rilo.

6. Acceptable Use and Content Rules

You agree to use Rilo in a lawful, respectful, and responsible manner. In particular, you agree that you will not:

  • Post, upload, or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Share content that involves sexual exploitation, sexually explicit material, or content inappropriate for an adult community.
  • Promote violence, self-harm, terrorism, or hate toward any individual or group.
  • Post content that infringes or violates the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
  • Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading behavior, including scams, phishing, or impersonation.
  • Upload malware, viruses, or other malicious code, or attempt to interfere with the normal operation of the App.
  • Use Rilo for unauthorized commercial purposes, such as spam or unsolicited advertisements, unless explicitly permitted.

We reserve the right to remove any content and take appropriate enforcement measures if we believe that these rules are violated.

7. User-Generated Content and License

7.1 Your Responsibilities

  • You retain ownership of the content you upload, post, or share on Rilo.
  • You are solely responsible for your content and any consequences arising from publishing it.
  • You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to upload and share your content and that your content does not violate any law or third-party rights.

7.2 License to Rilo

By uploading or sharing content on Rilo, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to:

  • Host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content as necessary to operate and provide the Service.
  • Use your content for internal analysis, moderation, and improvement of the Service.

This license continues for as long as your content is available on Rilo. When you delete content, we will remove it from public view within a reasonable time, but some copies may be retained in backups or where required by law.

8. Content Moderation and Enforcement

To maintain a safe and healthy community, we may:

  • Review content using automated systems and human moderators.
  • Remove or restrict access to content that we believe violates these Terms or applicable laws.
  • Suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations.
  • Report illegal activities or content to law enforcement when required.

9. In-App Purchases (Apple In-App Purchase)

Rilo may provide certain features, virtual items, or premium content available through Apple In-App Purchases.

9.1 Payment and Billing

  • All purchases are processed by Apple via your Apple ID account according to the App Store terms and conditions.
  • We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
  • Prices and available products are displayed in the App and may vary by region.

9.2 Virtual Items

  • Virtual items (such as coins) or premium features purchased in Rilo are for use within the App only and have no real-world cash value.
  • Virtual items cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged outside of the App.
  • We may modify, limit, or discontinue virtual items with reasonable notice, where possible.

9.3 Refunds

  • Refund requests must be made through Apple according to the App Store's refund policies.
  • We cannot directly issue or manage refunds as all transactions are handled by Apple.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

Rilo may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not controlled by us. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services. Your use of such third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.

11. Service Availability and Changes

  • We may update, modify, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, with or without prior notice.
  • We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or without interruption.
  • We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect the availability of the Service.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

  • You may stop using Rilo at any time by uninstalling the App or requesting account deletion, where available.

12.2 Termination by Us

  • We may suspend or terminate your access to Rilo at any time if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity, or caused risk or possible legal exposure to us or others.

12.3 Effects of Termination

  • Upon termination, your right to access and use the Service will immediately cease.
  • Certain data or content may be deleted or retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.
  • Any virtual items or unused in-app purchases may be forfeited without refund, to the extent permitted by law and App Store policies.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an 'AS IS' and 'AS AVAILABLE' basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

  • We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
  • We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any user-generated content.
  • Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rilo and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rilo and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service.
  • Your content or activities in the App.
  • Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
  • Your violation of any third-party rights.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Rilo is operated, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your place of residence.

  • In case of any dispute, you agree to first contact us at business@rilosource.com to attempt an informal resolution.
  • If a dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it shall be submitted to the competent courts, unless applicable law requires another form of dispute resolution.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this document and may notify you via in-app message or other reasonable means.

Your continued use of Rilo after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
